There are so many variations when it comes to DJ tables – you need to think about what you need for your circumstances. If you are purely a Mobile DJ, you need to consider being able to transport it, while being big enough to comfortably house all your DJ equipment.
- Portability: As a mobile DJ, you will be loading the DJ table into your vehicle, along with all your other equipment, unloading it at the venue, setting it up and then packing it down at the end of the night. You may have to contend with stairs or elevators. If you work alone, you will have to think about how manageable that table is to carry on your own.
- Size: How big does your DJ table need to be? How much equipment will you place on it? Think about all your equipment – turntables/CDJs/Controller, laptop, separate keyboard and mouse… What if you moved to a different, bigger system in the future – would you need to change the table to allow the extra equipment? Will a larger table fit comfortably in your regular venues?
- Build Quality: Wooden, plastic, metal design. Do you want a lighter table or something more substantial? If you’re moving it around every night you will want something more durable.
- Appearance: How would the table look to the venue, clients and guests? You may want to think about using a cover, a screen or a facade to make it look more professional and hide any unsightly wires and power cables.
