We will start with the last decade, the 2010s. Starting with a modern classic that I play at (almost) every single event: Uptown Funk by Mark Ronson featuring Bruno Mars – this song is guaranteed to get everyone dancing, no matter what age.

Stepping back a little further to the 2000s now, we have some real party classics in this list. Kicking of at number 1 with Yeah! by Usher featuring Lil Jon and Ludacris – this is a song that always gets the party started.

One that is always requested later in the evening is Mr. Brightside by The Killers, a timeless party anthem that gets everyone singing along.

A couple of tracks that are popular for the ladies include Hips Don’t Lie by Shakira and Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It) by Beyonce.

One of my favorite eras for music – the 1990s. Featuring a wide range of throwback party songs, with tracks from Spice Girls and Backstreet Boys to Montell Jordan and Smash Mouth, there really is something for all tastes.

That distinctive sound at the start of Jump Around by House Of Pain is a surefire tune to fill the dancefloor, followed up with some classic R ‘n’ B like This Is How We Do It and Return Of The Mack from Mark Morrison.

If you’re looking for some proper party songs, you can’t go wrong with Rednex and Cotton Eye Joe, or I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles) by Proclaimers.
